Description of Activity:
1. Assign students to a book group or let them choose their own. Assign books to each group or let them choose their own from a list of selections.
2. Give instructions to each group. Attached instructions also contain a list of dates for project completion.
3. Discuss and
explain each of the following parts of the assignment. Instructions
may be handed out on separate pages or all together on one comprehensive
page.

4. Assign groups or let students choose. It may be wise to allow students to digest the directions for a day before starting the project. The second day of instruction may be a good time to allow them to ask questions and assign groups or let them choose group members.
5. Assign group roles. Give each role an instruction sheet (attached to the group roles page).
6. For assessment,
give students a test and allow time for group presentations.
