Possible Adaptations:
Materials Needed:
2. Give students instructions for the assignment. (See attached student handout.) This requires students to pick a work the class has studied (or will study during the semester) and do preliminary research on it. In this case, the students are choosing Canterbury Tales pilgrims. Students may do this in groups.
3. Have students turn in proposals for the pilgrim they have chosen (explained in student instructions). Approve their choices in plenty of time for them to complete their research.
4. On a scheduled day in the computer lab, have students come to class with their research. (Note: this is for students who can do research at home; student who need more guidance during the research project should be allowed class time to do research.) You may want to distribute the attached research guidelines and checklists to help students.
5. If transparencies are being prepared in class, teach students how to use a text box and how to import a file from the Internet. (see attached directions) .
6. Instruct students to construct a word document that will be printed as a transparency for the class to see. The transparency should contain all of the researched information, including documentation, and should be contained in one page.
7. Have students print word documents on transparency film loaded into printer. Or, they may finish at home, save to a disk, and you can print it for them later (or give them the transparency and let them print it).
8. Allow students to present transparencies
to class for review of the work(s). This may also be a good way to
introduce new works.
