Lila Miranda Graves (Ph.D., Auburn, 1974), Associate Professor of English, specializes in eighteenth-century British literature and narrative poetics. She has published in Philological Quarterly, Journal of Narrative Technique, South Atlantic Review, The Explicator, and Exercise Exchange. At the undergraduate level she has taught courses in eighteenth-century British literature, Milton, Shakespeare, and critical thinking. In addition, she teaches seminars in narrative poetics and eighteenth-century British fiction. She also serves as Faculty Coordinator for University 101, a university-wide course in interdisciplinary critical thinking. She is currently working on a book-length study of legal and narrative conflicts posed by women's marriage settlements in eighteenth-century British fiction.
